The Leadership Zoo: What Animal Are You?
Connections are crucial to leadership and parenting. This presentation uses animals to discuss personality types based on the model developed by Gary Smalley and John Trent. Through an understanding of personality types, we can learn to be responsible for our own well-being and also connect with and lead others effectively. During this session, attendees will learn helpful truths about themselves and others. This understanding can assist our own growth and as we seek to help others on their journey.
Social Emotional Intelligence
Social and emotional intelligence (S+EI or sometimes referred to as EI or EQ) encompasses many skill sets, including stress management, resilience, managing conflict productively, powerful influencing skills, catalyzing change, teamwork and collaboration, building trust and much more. Unfortunately, we see it most when it’s lacking – think of the boss who explodes when a deadline is missed, or the co-worker whom no one trusts. These people are limited by their lack of S+EI skills. The good news? S+EI can be learned and strengthened throughout our lives. It’s never too late to add these essential skills to your career strategy, and research concludes the fastest way to enhance your S+EI skills is through coaching. This workshop can be presented with or without the participants' taking the the Social + Emotional Intelligence Profile (SEIP)®, designed specifically to measure emotional intelligence in the workplace. The SEIP™ is the most comprehensive instrument on the market today, measuring 26 distinct S+EI competencies critical to management and leadership success.
Built to Last: Resilience for Teams, Families, and Individuals
Resilience is not a personality trait. It is a set of conditions that can be identified, assessed, and built. Five factors shape it: Connection, Belonging, Achievement, Autonomy, and Fulfillment. This working session helps individuals, teams, and families assess where they are strong, where they are thin, and what to do about it. You leave with a clear picture and a practical plan.
The Impact of Stress and Trauma on Behavior and Performance
Difficult behavior rarely starts with bad intentions. It usually starts with a nervous system that has been pushed past its limit. This workshop helps leaders, parents, educators, and caregivers understand what stress and trauma actually do to the brain and body, why people act the way they do under pressure, and how to respond in ways that build trust instead of breaking it. You will leave with a framework you can use the next day.
The Greatest Gift: Becoming a Giver of Hope
One of the greatest indicators of future success in school, business, and relationships is the capacity to hope. As we interact with coworkers, friends, clients, and family we directly impact their likelihood of success as we impact their levels of hope. Hope can be measured and developed. Participants will learn about themselves and practical ways to be channels of hope to those around them.
The Wounds of Caring
We are driven to care. We are moved by suffering, driven by empathy, and demonstrate compassion. As helpers, the forces that drive us to do what we do and the act of helping are the forces that will wound us. This workshop provides insight into the natural process by which caring individuals are wounded and provides practical protective measures for healing and protection.
Communicating for a Change
The communication process is clouded with distraction, distortion, and sometimes all out demolition. Learn to be effective in your communication, whether in conversation, written channels, or in front of a group. This presentation is loaded with practical tips and exercises and can be tailored to specific contexts as desired.
